Liyun Ren

Liyun Ren is a Senior Research Engineer at 3M since 2015, specializing in melt processed nonwoven materials. Prior experience includes a Research Assistant role at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where efforts focused on polymer nanofiber fabrication, the design of a novel silicone-epoxy polymer system for dental applications, and the development of a highly efficient Centrifugal Jet Spinning technique for nonwoven nanofiber production. Liyun Ren also conducted research on silica nanofiber/epoxy composites to enhance properties for electronic packaging. An internship as a Materials Engineer at Huanghe Hydropower Development Co., Ltd. involved optimizing super-plasticizers for concrete materials. Educational credentials include a Ph.D. and a Master's Degree in Materials Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
