Pirjo Merilahti

Pirjo Merilahti is a technology manager specializing in gene therapy upstream processes, currently employed at 3PBIOVIAN since February 2024, and previously held the same position at Biovian from November 2018 to February 2024. Merilahti has extensive experience in bioreactors, upscaling, viral vector manufacturing, and GMP manufacturing. Prior roles include process development manager and scientist at Biovian, as well as postdoctoral researcher positions at the University of Helsinki and Turku University Central Hospital. Merilahti holds a PhD in Virology and an MSc in Biochemistry from the University of Turku.
