Prior to their entrepreneurial ventures, they worked as a Lead Data Scientist at the University of Glasgow and SolarWinds. Phil also has experience as a Founder at Scoop Analytics and as a Data Scientist at Microsoft and Yahoo!. Phil began their career as a Software Developer at Airpoint Limited.

Phil McParlane received their Bachelor's degree in Computing Science from the University of Glasgow from 2006 to 2010. Subsequently, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Information Retrieval (Computing Science) from the University of Glasgow from 2011 to 2016.
