Hazel has a strong history of campaigning to improve the lives of working people by executing innovative and diverse communications strategies.
Her previous experience includes collaboration with the Four Day Week Ireland campaign, where she conducted profile building initiatives to establish the movement online and worked closely with the Chair of the Steering Group on developing website content and re-branding.
During this time, she also worked in the communications unit of Fórsa trade union, Ireland’s largest public service union, representing over 80,000 members.
Most recently, Hazel served as a press officer with the Irish Health Service Executive where she was responsible for providing frontline media relations, managing press queries, and securing organic coverage on a range of national campaigns.
She also has a keen political interest and worked in the Irish Labour Party press office during the 2020 general election.
Hazel has a Masters degree from Dublin City University in Political Communications where she graduated top of her class in 2021. Her undergraduate degree is from Maynooth University where she achieved a BA in Media Studies and Business. She also has a Professional Diploma in Human Rights and Equality from the Institute of Public Administration.
