Ryan Shivashankar

Ryan Shivashankar has a diverse work experience in the field of security engineering and information technology support. Ryan is currently working as a Security Specialist at 6pillars.ai since September 2021. Prior to this, they held various roles at UNSW, including Course Convenor, Principles of Security Engineering & Security Engineering Tutor, and Course Admin, Web Application Security & Testing. Ryan also worked as an Information Technology Support - Security Administrator at Urbanest Australia from June 2019 to January 2021. Ryan has a strong background in teaching and mentoring as they served as a Security Engineering Tutor at UNSW, where they spearheaded Security Engineering classes and developed students' understanding of computer security concepts. Ryan also worked as a Project Assistant at UNSW for a short period of time.

Ryan Shivashankar completed a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Computer Science from UNSW from 2015 to 2018. In 2020, they enrolled in the ECA Professional Year Program and earned a Graduate Diploma of Management (Learning) in 2021. Currently, Ryan is pursuing additional education at Linux Academy. Before attending university, they completed their Edexcel GCE Advanced Level from S. Thomas' College, Mount Lavinia from 2012 to 2014. Prior to that, they completed their GCE Ordinary Level from S. Thomas' Preparatory School between 2001 and 2011. Ryan has also obtained certifications from Amazon Web Services (AWS), including AWS Certified Developer - Associate in March 2023 and AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner in February 2023.
