Frans Tjallingii

Frans Tjallingii has a diverse range of work experience spanning multiple industries. Frans is currently the CEO of 7Gen, a company focused on helping fleet operators in the medium and heavy-duty segments convert to electric vehicles. Frans is responsible for providing vehicles and chargers as a service on a monthly bill. Prior to this role, they were the Board Chair and Director for the Port of Prince Rupert, the fastest growing port for transpacific trade in North America. Frans served on the board since May 2017 and became the Chair in September 2019. Frans is also the Co-Founder and Board Chair for Foundations for Social Change, a position they have held since September 2015. Moreover, they are a Co-Founder and Director at Circular Rubber Technologies Inc., and is a Director on the Board of Meatme.ca, a company that aims to empower farmers and provide a transparent farm-to-table experience. Frans has also worked as an Advisor at Awesense and as the Co-Founder and CEO of First Coin Capital, an advisory service and technology development company focused on blockchain and cryptocurrency. Frans successfully sold this company to Galaxy Digital. Additionally, Frans founded and chaired the First Nations Housing Challenge. Before this, they held the position of President at Saam Smit Towage Canada Inc./Royal Boskalis Westminster, where they oversaw harbor towage services in various Canadian ports. Frans has also served as the General Manager of SMIT Internationale Gabon S.A. Overall, Frans Tjallingii has demonstrated their leadership skills in numerous roles across different sectors.

Frans Tjallingii completed their education in a chronological order with a focus on business and marine biology. Frans first pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Marine Biology at the University of Groningen, which they completed between 1994 and 1999. Building on their scientific background, Frans then pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in International Business Management at the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University from 2002 to 2004.
