Ron Carlson

Ron Carlson has over 35 years of work experience in various roles and industries. Ron started their career in 1978 as a member of the IEEE Power & Energy Society (PES) Substations Physical Security Standards Committee and has been an IEEE member since then. From 1999 to 2001, they were the VP of Engineering at Infinitec Networks, where they revitalized the company's broadband IP and telephony access products. In 2001, they served as the VP of Engineering at JTE, focusing on product planning and development for carrier-class broadband network testing. From 2002 to 2003, they worked as a Principal Engineer at VariDuct, providing consultation for systems engineering and business modeling projects. From 2005 to 2006, they were the Director of Business Development at Adcomp, winning several projects and campaigns related to IP network systems for video surveillance. From 2006 to 2008, they served as the General Manager at Mace Security Products, Inc., increasing the company's gross profit through product line transformations and key account revenue management. From 2008 to 2010, they worked in Business Development at Virtual Surveillance, repositioning the company's systems integration business and securing projects in various markets. From 2010 to 2013, they were the National Practice Lead and Senior Architect at Insight, providing consultative requirements definition to customers and managing project and program management objectives. Since 2015, they have been working as a Project Manager at 911 Security. Additionally, they served as a Board of Directors Member at New Class Five from 2007 to 2012. Ron Carlson obtained their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Special Major - Machine Intelligence from California State University, Northridge, where they studied from 1972 to 1974. Subsequently, they pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Math and Computer Science at UCLA from 1974 to 1978. In addition to their formal education, Ron Carlson also obtained a certification in De-Escalating Intense Situations from LinkedIn in March 2020.
