James Gray Lackey has worked in the engineering and manufacturing industries since 2013. James Gray began their career as a Lifeguard at the YMCA of Iredell County in 2012. In 2013, they joined Ameritech Die & Mold Inc as a Mold Designer, where they created complex top-down assemblies of plastic-injection molds using SolidWorks, modified customer part files, designed entire injection molds, created BOMs and POs, and simulated injection processes. James Gray also recruited apprentices and serviced machines. In 2019, they joined Enplas Life Tech, Inc. as a Tool Design Engineer, where they performed start-to-finish product development, injection mold design, fixture design, and production validation in an ISO 13485 environment. In 2021, they joined 9T Labs as a Tooling and Molding Engineer.
James Gray Lackey attended the North Carolina Department of Commerce, the United States Department of Labor - Office of Apprenticeship, and Central Piedmont Community College from 2013 to 2017. During this time, they obtained an apprenticeship in Mold Making, an Associate of Applied Science in Mechatronics Engineering Technology, and a Certified Solidworks Associate from DS SolidWorks Corporation in April 2018.
