Jennifer Blackwood has a diverse work experience spanning over several roles and industries. Jennifer started their career in 1988 with Lightspeed Software/Lightspeed Net, where they grew from a marketing assistant to a Marketing Manager. Jennifer then joined Time Warner Cable as a Marketing Manager, responsible for launching RoadRunner Broadband Internet service in Bakersfield. Jennifer also worked at Lightspeed Technologies/EGovEdge, where they were brought on board to aid in the development of a community portal before joining The Bakersfield Californian. At The Bakersfield Californian, they served as a Marketing Manager and was later promoted to the middle management team. Jennifer then joined Klassen Corporation as the Director of Marketing, where they contributed to sales growth from $23M to $54M. Since 2014, they have been working at A-C Electric Company, initially as the Director of Talent & Organizational Development and later taking on the additional role of Marketing Manager. In this position, they are responsible for talent planning and development, as well as marketing strategies for multiple brands within the company.
Jennifer Blackwood attended Highland High School and obtained their high school diploma. Jennifer then enrolled at Bakersfield College, where they earned an Associate of Arts degree in Liberal Arts from 1988 to 1991. Afterward, they pursued higher education at California State University, Bakersfield, from 1992 to 1996, and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a focus on Marketing. Additionally, Jennifer has obtained several certifications throughout their professional career, including Construction Executive Institute from FMI in September 2021, Procore Certified: Project Manager (Core Tools) and Procore Certified: Project Manager (Project Management) from Procore Technologies in February 2020, and various leadership certifications from Rapport Leadership International, such as Master Graduate in October 2019, Power Communication in October 2019, Leadership Breakthrough Two in October 2018, and Leadership Breakthrough One in April 2017. Jennifer also has an educational background in Human Resource Management through CSUB Extended University, although the specific dates are unknown.
