Oswaldo Revelo Castro has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of pediatrics. Oswaldo has held various positions throughout their career, starting in 1980 as a Medico Especialista Neonatologia at the Hospital Nacional de Niños "Benjamin Bloom". In 1987, they worked as a Residente de Neonatologia at the Instituto Nacional de Perinatologia (INPer).
In 1988, they joined the Hospital de Niños "Centro Pediatrico" as a member of the Clinica Pediatrica and also became a Professor of Pediatrics at the Universidad de El Salvador.
Oswaldo has also been involved in national and international associations. Oswaldo was a Coordinador del Comité Nacional de Reanimación Neonatal and later became the Presidente of the Asociación de Pediatria en El Salvador. Oswaldo served as a Vicepresidente of the Asociación Latinoamericana de Pediatria ALAPE, an organization that affiliates with 22 pediatric societies in Iberoamerica, and became its Presidente in September 2018. Additionally, they are a Standing Committee Member of The International Pediatric Association (IPA).
Oswaldo Revelo Castro has also contributed as an Instructor Regional for the American Academy of Pediatrics and worked as a Consultant for the Pan American Health Organization.
Oswaldo Revelo Castro completed their undergraduate studies at the Universidad de El Salvador, where they pursued a Doctor en Medicina degree specializing in Pediatra-Neonatologo. This program lasted from 1974 to 1984. In 1987 to 1988, they furthered their education at the Instituto Nacional de Perinatología (INPer), obtaining a degree in Neonatología, focusing on Medicine.
