Gary (Douglas) Perdue is a seasoned security professional with extensive experience in physical security, counterterrorism, and risk management. Currently serving as the Physical Security and Workplace Violence Director at AARP since December 2019, Gary defines and manages security transformation initiatives and conducts threat assessments. Previously, Gary held senior roles within the FBI, including Deputy Assistant Director of the Counterterrorism Division, where oversight of domestic terrorism and cyber training programs was provided, and Special Agent in Charge for the FBI's Western Pennsylvania and West Virginia jurisdictions. Other significant positions included directing corporate security at Exelon and leading various counterterrorism and counterintelligence units. Gary's education encompasses a Master of Science in National Security Strategy from the National Defense University and a BA in Economics and Government & Politics from the University of Maryland, amongst other certifications.
