Julian Sfecla

Julian Sfecla has extensive experience in information technology roles. Julian began their career at the American Psychiatric Association in 2000, working as a System Administrator. In this role, they managed the daily operations of the IT Department and identified IT solutions to enhance program efficiency. From 2005 to 2013, Sfecla held the position of Director, IT Operations, overseeing all IT operations functions and vendor resources. Julian was responsible for data security, infrastructure, disaster recovery procedures, and compliance with operational SLAs. In 2013, they were promoted to Senior Director Information Technology before joining AFBA in 2014 as Director Of Information Technology. At AFBA, Sfecla ensured the efficient operation of IT production operations and developed cost-effective technology solutions for the organization. In 2018, they joined AAUW as Director Of Information Technology. Overall, Sfecla has demonstrated expertise in managing IT operations, strategizing, budgeting, vendor contracts, and staff.

Julian Sfecla obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Manufacturing Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Bucharest. This degree was earned between the years 1989 and 1994. In 2019, they also completed an Executive Education Program in Management & Leadership at the MIT Sloan School of Management. Additionally, Julian Sfecla received the ITIL Foundation Certificate in IT from PEOPLECERT in January 2012.
