Lorena Alvarado

Lorena Alvarado currently serves as a Communications Associate at AAUW since July 2023. Previously, Alvarado held the title of Coordinadora de Mercadeo y Comunicaciones at ASOCOLFLORES from October 2018 to February 2021, where responsibilities included developing and implementing internal communication strategies. Alvarado's experience also encompasses a role as a Senior Public Relations Executive at Compass Communications, where consultation on communication strategies and media relations were core duties. Prior positions include journalist roles at MileniumGroup and Revista Gerente Colombia, specializing in content creation and economic journalism. Early career experiences include work as an intern and community manager with the Asociación Colombiana de Universidades and as an academic research assistant at Universidad Santo Tomás. Alvarado holds a degree in social communication and journalism from Universidad Santo Tomás and has pursued further education at Cambridge Public Library.
