David Greely

David Greely has a diverse range of work experience in the fields of economics, finance, and technology. David currently holds the position of Chief Economist at Abaxx Technologies, where they are involved in developing and deploying financial technologies and launching a commodity futures exchange and clearinghouse. David is also the Executive Producer and Host for SmarterMarkets™, a media platform that brings together industry leaders to discuss societal challenges such as climate change. In addition, they are a Senior Economic Advisor at Base Carbon, a company providing financing solutions to the voluntary carbon markets. Previously, David worked as Principal, Chief Economist and Investment Strategist at Global Purview LLC, and as a Portfolio Strategist at Bridgewater Associates. Earlier in their career, they held positions at Goldman Sachs as Head of Energy Research and Chief Commodities Strategist, and at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation as a Research Economist.

David Greely earned their Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Chemistry from the University of Virginia from 1988 to 1992. David then went on to complete their Doctor of Philosophy degree in Economics at the University of Chicago from 1992 to 1997.
