Cataldo Schietroma has a diverse work experience in the field of research and development. Cataldo was the Head of Bioassay Development at AbbeLight Instruments since June 2017. Prior to that, they worked as a Research Fellow and Chargé de recherche at Institut Pasteur from January 2012 to June 2016, where they conducted research on Usher Syndrome type I. Cataldo also worked as a Researcher at Institut de la Vision from January 2011 to June 2016. Earlier in their career, they served as a Staff Research Associate at UCLA from January 2007 to October 2010 and as a Postgraduate Researcher from April 2001 to December 2006. Cataldo began their career as a Doctoral student at IDI Istituto Dermopatico Immacolata in 1997.
Cataldo Schietroma obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Sapienza Università di Roma, where they studied from 1991 to 1996. Cataldo then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Biology and Physiopathology of Epithelia at the University of Rome Tor Vergata from 1997 to 2001. In addition to their formal education, Schietroma also obtained several certifications, including Network Analysis in Systems Biology and Introduction to Systems Biology, both from Coursera Course Certificates in 2017 and 2016 respectively. Cataldo also completed the EMBO Laboratory Management Course in July 2016. Furthermore, Schietroma holds certification in Expérimentation Animale Niveau concepteur from the Ministère chargé de l'Agricolture.
