Shima Gholizadeh

Shima Gholizadeh is a highly experienced scientist in pharmaceutical chemistry and drug delivery technologies. Currently serving as a Senior Scientist II at AbbVie since May 2024, Shima focuses on discovery chemistry and delivery technology. Prior roles include leading as a Senior Scientist at Nutcracker Therapeutics, where a novel hydrolysable delivery platform for mRNA therapeutics was implemented, and as a Staff Scientist at Illumina, driving innovations in sequencing reagents chemistry for the NovaSeq X program. Shima's academic background includes a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from Utrecht University, with significant contributions to drug delivery research throughout various positions, including a DOD Fellowship at UCLA and expertise in monomer design and synthesis during the Ph.D. program.
