Mauricio Arias

Mauricio Arias is a skilled scientist with a diverse background in research and development. Currently serving as a Scientist at Abcam since August 2022, Mauricio also holds the position of Senior Scientist and Research & Development Lead at FluroTest, where responsibilities include designing and implementing high-throughput tests for the detection of SARS-CoV-2. Previously, as a Senior Research Scientist and R&D Manager at FluroTech, project coordination focused on the detection of cannabinoids and illicit drugs. Mauricio's academic journey includes a PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Calgary, alongside advanced degrees in Physics and Engineering Physics from Universidad Nacional de Colombia. With postdoctoral experience at the University of Calgary, expertise encompasses biophysics, immunoassays, and fluorescence instrumentation.
