John Giorgi

John Giorgi is an accomplished NLP Research Scientist currently at Abridge since October 2023. Previous experience includes two research internships at the Allen Institute for AI (AI2) in 2023 and 2022, contributing to Semantic Scholar projects. Additionally, John completed a Mitacs Accelerate Internship at Semantic Health in 2020 and served as a Student Mentor at The Workshop, University of Ottawa, from 2016 to 2017. An early data science internship took place at RWTH Aachen University in 2016, focusing on web mining and NLP related to wearable technology. Prior molecular biology research was conducted at ENS Lyon, where John earned a scholarship from the University of Ottawa. John Giorgi holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Computer Science from the University of Toronto and has both a Master's degree and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Biochemistry.
