Tonya Amen

Tonya Amen has a diverse and comprehensive work experience in the field of genetic services and product validation. Tonya is currently employed as the Global Director of Genetic Services and Product Validation at ABS Global since March 2023. Prior to this, they held the position of Global Director of Product Validation and Technical Service at ABS Global from July 2021 to March 2023. Tonya also served as the Executive Director of the National Center for Beef Excellence from August 2019 to July 2021. Before that, they were the Genetic Center Director at the same organization from August 2017 to 2019. Tonya has also worked as a Consultant and Project Manager in a self-employed capacity from July 2016 to January 2018. Tonya gained valuable experience as the Genetic Service Director at Angus Genetics Inc from February 2012 to January 2016. Tonya's career began as an Assistant Professor at the University of Wisconsin - River Falls, where they worked from August 2007 to May 2010. In addition, they worked as a Cattle Genetics Specialist at Pfizer Animal Health from May 2010 to February 2012, where they provided consultation and delivered presentations on the use of genomic technology in the cattle industry across the Southeastern states.

Tonya Amen has a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Animal Sciences from Texas Tech University, which they obtained from 1998 to 2001. Tonya then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Animal Breeding at Texas A&M University from 2002 to 2007.
