Njsane Courtney

Njsane Courtney, SPHR, SHRM-SCP has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Njsane has held various roles in human resources and has been successful in implementing strategic initiatives.

Starting in 1996, Njsane served as an Executive Officer in the United States Army for six years. Following their military service, they joined AIG/American General as a Retirement Plan Specialist/Voluntary Benefits from 2001 to 2005.

In 2005, Njsane transitioned to Hibernia National Bank/Capital One Bank as an HR Generalist/Recruiter. Njsane then joined Baker Hughes as a Contract HR Consultant for a short period in 2006.

From 2005 to 2012, Njsane worked at Champion Technologies, first as an HR Business Partner and later as a Senior HR Business Partner. Njsane excelled in resolving employee relations issues, implementing leadership training programs, and reducing recruitment costs.

In 2012, Njsane joined Pacific Drilling as a Corporate Human Resources Manager, where they collaborated with executives to enhance HR initiatives and support the company's growth. One year later, they moved to the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) as a Director of Human Resources for ABS Group, a subsidiary of ABS. Njsane successfully centralized HR operations and provided counsel to senior executives.

Continuing their journey with ABS, Njsane became the Director of Human Resources – Western Hemisphere and Corporate in 2018. In this role, they built a new and improved HR function spanning five continents and leading a team of HR professionals. Njsane leveraged their expertise to impact behavior, drive policy enhancements, and develop HR competencies.

Most recently, Njsane was promoted to Vice President of Human Resources at the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS). Njsane brings their skills and experience to provide strategic direction and tactical support to the organization.

Njsane Courtney, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, holds a variety of educational achievements. They have a Master of Business Administration degree from the Gies College of Business at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Njsane also completed a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a focus on Computer Information Systems and Management Information Systems from the University of Houston. Additionally, they earned an Associates degree in Computer Science from GMC - Georgia Military College. Njsane has continued to enhance their skills and expertise through various certifications, including SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources) from HRCI and SHRM-CP (Senior Certified HR Professional) from SHRM. They have also pursued additional specialized certifications and completed several relevant courses to further their knowledge in areas such as strategic innovation, statistics, economics, leadership, and strategy.
