Lindiwe Chola Malaza (MBA) has a comprehensive work experience that spans multiple sectors and roles. They recently served as the Chief of Party for the Health Electrification and Telecommunications Alliance (HETA) project at Abt Associates, where they were responsible for leading the project in Eswatini and coordinating collaboration among various stakeholders.
Prior to that, Malaza held several roles at the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), including Head of Environment, Energy, Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction/Resilience. In this position, they managed various projects and initiatives related to energy, climate change, and environment. They also provided technical advisory support, conducted advocacy and knowledge management activities, and developed strategic partnerships for resource mobilization.
Malaza also served as the Chief Energy Officer at the Ministry of Energy & Natural Resources and held a leadership position at the Eswatini Electricity Company as the Board Deputy Chairman and Chairman of the Technical Committee. In these roles, they were responsible for overseeing strategic decisions, monitoring performance, and approving key investments.
Other notable experiences include working as a Principal Energy Officer at the Ministry of Natural Resources and Energy, serving as a Board Member for the Eswatini Environment Authority, and being a Future Energy Leader for the World Energy Council.
Additionally, Malaza gained practical experience through internships and fellowship programs. They interned at GreenChar, a social enterprise in Kenya focused on producing environmentally friendly charcoal briquettes. They also participated in the Young African Leadership Initiative: Mandela Washington Fellowship.

Lindiwe Chola Malaza holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from GIBS Business School (Gordon Institute of Business Science), which was completed in 2022. In 2020, Lindiwe also obtained a Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip) in Management from the same institution. In 2019, Lindiwe received a Certificate in Climate & Renewable Energy Finance from the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management. Prior to that, in 2017, Lindiwe completed a course in Energy and Mineral Economics at Australia National University and a course in Corporate Governance at the Institute of Directors. In 2016, Lindiwe pursued studies on Energy, Water, and Food Nexus at JRS Ispra. Lindiwe's educational background also includes a Public Management degree in Environment and Hydrology from Florida International University in 2014, a Management Development Programme from the University of Stellenbosch - Executive Development in 2013-2014, an MSc in Geography and Environmental Studies with a focus on Energy and Climate Change from the University of the Witwatersrand from 2012 to 2014, and a GHG Inventory Expert Reviewer Training Programme in Climate Change from the GHG Management Institute in 2010-2011. Additionally, Lindiwe obtained a Bsc Hons in Environmental Management from the University of South Africa/Universiteit van Suid-Afrika in 2008-2009 and a Certificate in Business Administration and Management from the same institution in 2007. Lindiwe also holds a Minerals and Energy Education Training Institute Certificate in the Management of the Petroleum Industry and Economics from the University of the Witwatersrand in 2005, and a Bsc in Chemical Engineering from the University of Cape Town from 2000 to 2004.
