Mercedes Pérez Olivares

Mercedes Pérez Olivares, MSc. PhD, currently serves as a Scientific Manager (Bioassay) at Abzena since May 2022, following a progression from Senior Scientist (Bioassay). Prior experience includes roles as Scientist 2 and Scientist 1 at PhoreMost Ltd from March 2020 to April 2022, and as a Research Scientist at BiOncotech Therapeutics between March 2017 and April 2019. Extensive expertise in immunological assays, particularly in multicolour flow cytometry for cell immunophenotyping, has been developed. A background in research also includes significant experience at the National Center for Biotechnology-CSIC in Madrid, where skills in the isolation, culture, manipulation, and characterization of immune cells, along with proficiency in molecular biology techniques were acquired. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Molecular Biosciences from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, an MSc in Immunology from Universidad Complutense de Madrid, and a BSc in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid.
