Tom Williams

Tom Williams has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Tom started their career as a Transmission Systems Engineer at Bell Labs Lucent Technologies in 1998, providing technical support and overseeing customer field trials of new networking equipment until 2001. Tom then joined Optium as a Product Line Manager, where they managed a small team of product managers, served as the primary technical interface to customers worldwide, and developed and presented product roadmaps from 2001 to 2008. Following this, they joined Finisar Corporation as the Director of Product Line Management, where they held this role from 2008 to 2015. Currently, Tom is with Acacia Communications Inc. since 2015, initially serving as a Senior Director and later promoted to Vice President of Marketing in April 2019.

Tom Williams holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and Physics from Widener University, which they obtained between 1989 and 1993. Tom then pursued a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University, where they completed their studies from 1996 to 1999.
