Mike Cooper

Mike Cooper has worked in various roles since 2008. Mike began as a Commissioned Officer in the U.S. Coast Guard, where they were responsible for the safe navigation of a U.S. Coast Guard ship in domestic and international waters, and also served as a Dive Officer. In 2013, they became an Emergency Medical Technician at Steward Health Care. In 2017, they joined Apprenti as a Registered Tech Apprentice. That same year, they began working at Amazon Web Services (AWS) as a Cloud Support Engineer, providing premium support for enterprise customers using Amazon Web Services with a focus on CloudFormation, Elastic Beanstalk, Elastic Container Service (ECS), and Kubernetes service for EC2 (EKS). In 2019, they moved to The Walt Disney Company as a Site Reliability Engineer. In 2020, they began working at Apptio in the same role. Most recently, they have been a Site Reliability Engineer at Academia.edu since 2021.

Mike Cooper has a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Linguistics from the University of Arizona, which they obtained in 2009. Mike also attended Officer Candidate School in 2009. In addition, they have obtained three certifications: Certified Linux Administrator (LPIC-1) from the Linux Professional Institute in December 2017, Amazon Web Services Solutions Architect Associate from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in January 2017, and CompTIA Network+ from CompTIA in June 2017.
