Brendan Connell, Jr.

Brendan Connell, Jr. serves as the Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, overseeing day-to-day operations across five Los Angeles locations, including facilities management, event rentals, and safety. Prior to this role, Brendan held the position of Deputy Chief Operating Officer at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum for nearly 18 years, where responsibilities included senior managerial and legal functions. Additionally, Brendan has contributed to Columbia Law School as a guest lecturer on nonprofit governance and tax issues. Brendan holds a JD from New York University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts with high honors from Dartmouth College.
