Kate Benay

Kate Benay currently serves as the Senior Vice President of Marketing & Audience Development at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences since September 2024. Previously, Kate held the position of Head of Marketing at Sundance Institute from July 2018 to September 2024, overseeing various teams across multiple brands and initiatives. Prior to that, Kate worked as a Senior Marketing Consultant, collaborating with prominent media companies and brands. Additional experience includes serving as Brand Director at 72andSunny, Director of National Promotions at Fox Searchlight Pictures, Manager of Marketing at 21st Century Fox, and Senior Graphic Designer at Giraldi Suarez Productions/starchefs.com. Kate began the career as a Production Assistant at SpotCo. Educational background includes a BA from Brown University, high school education from Brentwood School, and a study abroad program at the University of Amsterdam.
