Tierra Carter

Tierra Carter, MA, NIC, is an experienced lead American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter currently serving in the Mayor's Office of the Deaf/DeafBlind/Hard-of-Hearing for the DC Government since September 2022. Alongside this role, Tierra operates multiple sign language interpreting services, including Tierra Carter Interpreting Services, LLC, and works with various organizations such as Heritage Interpreting, Access Interpreting, JOYFUL SIGNING LLC, Interpreter-Now, and previously with Purple Communications, Inc. Educational credentials include a Master of Arts in Sign Language Interpretation and Translation from Gallaudet University, a Bachelor of Science in Food and Nutritional Science from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, and a degree in Sign Language Interpreting from Oakland Community College.
