Saul Weiner is professor of medicine, pediatrics and medical education and vice provost of planning and programs at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He is also deputy director of the Veterans Affairs (VA) Center of Innovation for Complex Chronic Healthcare, funded by the VA’s Division of Health Services Research & Development. His background is in internal medicine and pediatrics, and his research has focused on patient-centered decision-making and the challenge of individualizing care. Dr. Weiner is also co-founder and co-principal of the Institute for Practice and Provider Performance Improvement (I3PI). He was named the University of Illinois at Chicago’s Distinguished Researcher of the Year for the clinical sciences in 2013.
