Oliver Knowlton is Chief Strategy Officer at AccuWeather, bringing his considerable operational expertise to help raise AccuWeather’s overall execution as it grows and further diversifies revenue.
In this role, he oversees the AccuWeather Line of Business that includes radio, newspaper, local television partnerships, AccuWeather’s local television solutions business, as well as digital out of home. In addition, as a valued member of AccuWeather’s leadership team, Knowlton works directly with AccuWeather’s President and CEO to bring increased efficiencies and superior execution to all AccuWeather businesses. He handles a wide range of special strategic projects related to company growth and revenue diversification.
Prior to this appointment in September 2019, Knowlton was a strategic consultant with his own practice, called Work Well Digital, working with AccuWeather’s Digital Media business and was instrumental in helping to build out AccuWeather’s Sales team and Product office. Knowlton joined AccuWeather in late 2018 on a part-time basis to help manage the Local Media Solutions Line of Business (formerly known as Traditional Media).
Before joining AccuWeather as a consultant, Knowlton had leadership positions at such renowned media and digital enterprises as TIME Inc., MediaNews Group, One News, PointRoll and Gannett. Knowlton is an executive with extensive digital media experience with an expertise in operational execution. He understands the business landscape at companies in the media, technology and digital space. At his core he thrives in managing companies in transition, trying to achieve renewed growth or repositioning due market disruptions.
When he is not working, Knowlton is passionate about volunteerism, donating his time to CitySquash, a Bronx, based urban youth program, and Brooklyn Tech Talks, a (700+) Meetup group dedicated to broad technology issues. He is also an avid sports fan, a 2:30 marathoner, and has completed two Ironman triathlons.
