Brian Wiens

Brian Wiens has over 20 years of experience in the biometrics and biostatistics field. Brian began their career in 2000 as a Statistical Scientist at Amgen. In 2005, they took on the role of Director of Biometrics and Data Management at Myogen, where they were responsible for statistics, data management and statistical programming functions for phase 1-3 studies in cardiovascular development. In 2006, they moved to Gilead Colorado as Director of Biometrics. From 2009 to 2016, they held various roles at Alcon Laboratories, Inc., Allergan plc, and Tobira Therapeutics, including Senior Director of Biometrics and Expert Therapeutic Area Lead Statistician. In 2017, they became Senior Director of Biostatistics at Aquinox Pharmaceuticals, Inc., where they were a founding member of the biometrics department and responsible for statistics, data management and programming for all studies until the company underwent corporate downsizing following a negative phase 3 study of their lead compound. In 2018, they began serving as Vice President of Biometrics at Horizon, and in 2021 they took on the same role at ACELYRIN, Inc.

Brian Wiens received their BA in Math from Tabor College in 1987, their MS in Statistics from Colorado State University in 1991, and their Ph.D. in Statistics from Temple University in 1998.
