Joseph Nissenfeld has had substantial experience in the field of psychiatry and substance abuse. Joseph is currently serving as the Medical Director at Achieve Behavioral Health since September 2019. Prior to that, they held various positions at NYC Health + Hospitals including Acting Director of the Division of Substance Abuse, Director of Divison of Ambulatory & Community Psychiatry and Collaborative Care, Director of Chemical Dependency Outpatient Program, Attending Psychiatrist at the Opioid Treatment Program, and Attending Physician. Joseph also served as a Clinical Associate Professor at New York University School of Medicine starting from July 2010.
Joseph Nissenfeld obtained a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where they studied from 2001 to 2005. After completing their medical degree, they pursued a Psychiatry Residency Program at Long Island Jewish Medical Center from 2005 to 2009. Following this, Joseph undertook an Addiction Psychiatry Fellowship at New York Medicine Jobs from 2009 to 2010.
