Wendie Cornelissen started their career as a Management Trainee at ABN AMRO Bank in 1996. Wendie then worked as an Analyst in Planning and Control at ABN AMRO Callcenter from 1996 to 1999. Wendie returned to ABN AMRO Bank and held various roles, including District Manager, Senior Strategy Consultant, Head of Controlling Value Center Advies, and Manager CFO Office & Business Risk Officer Finance. In 2009, they became the Head of Business Transition Office Finance & Program Manager Organizational Change Finance. From 2013 to 2015, Wendie was the Director of Mortgage Personal at ABN AMRO, and from 2015 to 2017, they served as the Director of Credit Risk Management Hypotheken. Wendie then took on the role of Director of Daily Banking, responsible for multiple teams and subsidiaries within ABN AMRO. In 2020, Wendie became the Director of Risk Oversight & Control at ABN AMRO Bank N.V. Currently, they are serving as the Head of Risk & Compliance at Achmea Bank.
Wendie Cornelissen pursued their higher education at various institutions. From 1991 to 1996, they attended the University of Amsterdam, where they earned a Master's degree in Econometrie/Operations research management. In 1996, they briefly studied Statistics and Finance at The University of Sheffield. Wendie also completed the Basisopleiding organisatie advies (Basic Organizational Consulting) program at Sioo, interuniversitair centrum voor organisatie- en veranderkunde in 2000. Furthermore, in 2007, they participated in the Masterclass Retail Banking program at TIAS School for Business and Society.
Wendie Cornelissen holds additional certifications that contribute to their professional skill set. In 2016, they obtained the Professional Scrum Product Owner I (PSPO I) certification from Scrum.org. In 2019, they completed the Executing strategy for results program offered by the London Business School. Moreover, in 2019, Wendie achieved the Strategy in the age of Digital Disruption certification with Distinction from INSEAD Executive Education. Additionally, in 2020, they received training in the National Artificial Intelligence course offered by AI For Good.
