James Hofmann has a diverse work experience in the semiconductor industry. James is currently working as a Field Application Engineer at Achronix Semiconductor Corporation since June 2021. Prior to this, they had a long stint at Cadence Design Systems starting in May 2014. At Cadence, James held roles as Lead Application Engineer for Simulation Acceleration, and later as Principal Application Engineer. James was responsible for supporting the Palladium and Protium product lines for simulation acceleration and HW/SW prototyping. James also worked as a Senior Design Engineer for SmallHD as a contractor in early 2014. Before that, they held the position of Senior Electronics Engineer at Static Control Components, Inc. from 2009 to 2013. James also had experience as a Senior Design Engineer at Insilica and Atmel from 2007 to 2008 and 2006 to 2007, respectively. Their early career includes working as an ASIC Hardware Design Engineer at Agere Systems from 2002 to 2006 and as a VLSI Hardware Design Engineer and Physical Design Engineer at Lucent Technologies from 1996 to 2002.
James Hofmann has a diverse educational background. James obtained a Certificate in DSP Systems Engineering from UC Irvine in 2012-2013. Earlier, they pursued a Certificate in Java Programming from UC Irvine from 2008 to 2012. Additionally, from 2009 to 2011, they worked towards a Certificate in Analog Integrated Circuit Design at the University of California, Berkeley. Prior to these pursuits, James earned a BSEET (Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering Technology) degree in Electrical Engineering from DeVry Institute of Technology between 1993 and 1996.
