John Volkmer, Ph.D.

John Volkmer, Ph.D., currently serves as a Support Engineer at Acquia since March 2022. Previously, John worked as a Structural Geologist at ExxonMobil from July 2010 to October 2020, where responsibilities included oil and gas exploration, seismic structure mapping, and GIS database development. Prior to that, John was an Information Technology Technician at USAA from 1992 to 1999, managing voice and data systems in office and disaster relief environments. John also served as a Military Police Officer in the United States Army Reserve from October 1988 to October 1996. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. and a Master of Science in Geology from the University of Arizona, and a Bachelor of Science in Geology from the University of Wyoming.
