Tippi MacKenzie

Advisor And SAB Member at Acrigen Biosciences

Tippi MacKenzie serves as the Director of the UCSF Eli and Edythe Broad Center for Regeneration Medicine and Stem Cell Research since August 2021 and has been an MD in Pediatric Surgery at UCSF Medical Center since 2007. Additionally, Tippi MacKenzie holds the position of Professor of Surgery at UCSF and is an advisor and SAB member at Acrigen Biosciences. Tippi MacKenzie directs an NIH-funded translational research lab that investigates prenatal treatment for genetic diseases, leveraging the unique immune environment of the fetus. Previous training includes a Pediatric Surgery Fellowship at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia from 2005 to 2007, and a General Surgery Residency at Brigham and Women's Hospital from 1997 to 2005, alongside a Fetal Surgery Research Fellowship at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia from 1999 to 2002. Tippi MacKenzie earned a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from Stanford University School of Medicine and a Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry from Harvard University, with an early education in piano at The Juilliard School.
