Mark Evans has worked in the field of digital archiving and preservation for over 20 years. Mark began their career in 1999 as a Software Consultant and Digital Archives Practice Manager at Tessella Inc. In 2004, they took on the role of Contractor: SME at the National Archives and Records Administration, and Subject Matter Expert at Lockheed Martin- ERA Program. In 2008, they worked as an Archive Consultant at Novartis Pharma and Preservation Expert at the eArchive Project at AZ. From 2010 to 2012, they were the Infrastructure Research and Development Team Lead on the NSF funded DataNet project. From 2012 to 2014, they held the position of Digital Archives US Lead at Preservica. In 2015, they became an Advisor at BitCurator Access. Finally, from 2019 to present, they have been working as a Senior Sales Engineer and Director Sales Engineering at ActiveNav.
Mark Evans attended Hyde 6th form from 1988 to 1990. Mark then attended The University of Manchester from 1990 to 1993, where they obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering. Mark has also attended the University of Liverpool.
