Barry Funderburg

Barry Funderburg is an experienced sound engineer and composer with a diverse background in theatrical sound design. Since February 2023, Barry has been freelancing as a sound engineer with CenterStage Productions of Illinois and simultaneously provides freelance services with Concert Sound Systems since September 2019. Barry's extensive contributions to the field include roles as composer and sound designer at Actors Theatre of Louisville, Milwaukee Repertory Theater, and Steppenwolf Theatre Company, among others. Educational qualifications include an MFA in Theatrical Sound Design from Purdue University and a BA in Theatre & Music Theory/Composition from Dordt University. Barry's professional trajectory reflects a commitment to excellence in sound design across various prominent theater companies and educational institutions.
