Yari L. Mitchell

Yari Mitchell is Chief Business Development Officer at AcuFocus. She oversees global commercialization and business strategy for the company’s groundbreaking small aperture IOL technology, leads enterprise-wide business strategy, and has been instrumental in generating over $100 million dollars of venture capital investment. Yari joined AcuFocus in 2007 as director of medical education and professional relations and later served as vice president of medical affairs.

In her 20-year career in the global eye care industry, she has been a key contributor in launching innovative vision technologies such as wavefront-guided ablations, corneal inlays, and presbyopia-correcting IOLs. She is also former president and board member of the Ophthalmic World Leaders (OWL) and in 2018 was named Industry Rising Star by the Ophthalmology Innovation Summit. She is driven by an innate desire to make a positive difference in people’s lives and is honored to play a part in helping patients achieve their best possible vision.

Yari holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from the University of Miami.
