Howard Herrera

Howard Herrera is a seasoned engineering professional currently serving as a Distinguished Systems Architecture Engineer at Acuity Brands since September 2024. Previously, Howard held the position of Director of Engineering at Hatch Lighting from February 2018 to July 2024, overseeing the engineering team's operations for New Product Introduction and Sustaining Engineering. Prior experience includes serving as Sr. Director of Engineering at Xenio, a spin-off of Bridgelux, from August 2014 to January 2018, as well as roles at Wattstopper Products, beginning as an Electrical Engineer in May 1998 and later progressing to EE Manager/EPM/DLM Systems Architect until July 2014. Earlier, Howard worked as an Applications Engineer at Echelon, contributing to LonWorks technology. Howard holds a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Controls and Automation from Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina and a Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering from Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú.
