Christopher Emmott

Christopher Emmott has gained diverse work experience in the energy and financial services sectors. Christopher currently serves as an Associate Director at Acumen, where they focus on investing in energy access projects. Prior to this, they worked at Pagatech Limited as a Lead Product Manager, leading product development within their suite of financial services and agent tools to enhance financial inclusion in Nigeria. Christopher also contributed to the growth of Fenix International as a Product Portfolio Manager, responsible for designing and managing products across multiple African markets. Christopher has also worked as a freelance Off-Grid Solar Consultant, assisting start-ups in East Africa with operational processes, business development, and fundraising. Additionally, they have academic experience, including a Ph.D. in solar energy technologies and research roles at Imperial College London. Christopher's vast experience in the energy and financial sectors positions him well for their current role at Acumen.

Christopher Emmott completed their education with a BSc in Physics from The University of Edinburgh in 2010. Christopher then pursued a 1-year exchange program at the University of Melbourne in 2008-2009. From 2010 to 2015, they attended Imperial College London where they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree, specializing in the carbon mitigation potential of emerging photovoltaic technologies.
