James Linhares has had extensive work experience in various roles related to distribution and logistics. James started their career as a Captain in the Ordnance Corps of the US Army from 1984 to 1989. James then worked at Talbots as a Manager of Catalog Inventory Control from 1990 to 1997. After that, they joined Avery Dennison as a Distribution Center General Manager from 1997 to 2000.
In 2001, James joined Arvato as the Director of European Logistics Center, where they provided 3rd party logistics services for Microsoft's home and entertainment division in EMEA. James held this position until 2005.
From 2005 to 2017, they worked at Acushnet Company in various roles. Initially, they served as the Director of Distribution Operations, responsible for warehousing, distribution, and outbound transportation. Later, they became the Vice President of Global Distribution Strategy and Operations, where they partnered with the worldwide Acushnet supply chain to enhance service, improve efficiency, and optimize processes by identifying operational gaps and opportunities.
Throughout their career, James has demonstrated strong strategic management skills, negotiating freight contracts and collaborating with customers, suppliers, vendors, and external service providers to ensure supply chain efficiency and cost reduction.
James Linhares obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, where they attended from 1980 to 1984. James further pursued their education by completing a Master of Business Administration degree in Business at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth from 1996 to 2000.
