Ed Zimmerman

Ed Zimmerman is an accomplished legal and venture capital professional with a strong focus on supporting underrepresented groups in the industry. As the Founding Partner of First Close Partners, Zimmerman backs venture funds owned by diverse managers to promote equity in venture capital. Co-founding The Historic Fund, Zimmerman aids Historically Black Colleges & Universities by donating limited partnership interests in venture capital funds. With significant roles including Board Member positions at Fisk University and Black Women Talk Tech, as well as Interim Chair of the Center for Policing Equity, Zimmerman's commitment to racial equity and empowerment is evident. Additionally, Zimmerman co-founded the Emerging Companies & Venture Capital Group at Lowenstein Sandler LLP and has contributed over 100 articles to notable publications like Forbes and The Wall Street Journal, focusing on venture capital, startups, and social issues.
