Samantha Flores

Samantha Flores began their career in 2014 as a Crew Trainer at Panera Bread, where they trained new hires on how to run the register, taught them the menu and bakery items, and how to make the coffee. Samantha also assisted in different areas of the store, including cashier, barista, and food line. In 2015, they joined Adafruit Industries as Director of Fabrications: Production & Quality. In this role, they monitored, led, and managed schedules for team members, liaised with team members and leads to achieve department goals, observed, analyzed and offered feedback on current department operations, scheduled meetings with team members and leads, delegated tasks as-needed for Leads, assigned Work Orders daily to the team and managed metric expectations, resolved interpersonal conflicts, conducted Annual Reviews for team members and leads, developed training plans and supervised the training of new team members, acknowledged and took Lead of Staffing Needs and Efforts, and developed team members for leadership roles within Adafruit. Samantha also held the role of Production Manager, where they worked directly with Limor on new products and revisions, and ran point on Fab’s portion of interdepartmental projects. In addition, they were a Test/Prep Team Lead, responsible for assigning tasks to team members daily in accordance to stock and daily sales, managing team members' schedules, offering feedback to improve the departments efficiency, attending weekly meetings and actively participating, assisting in determining staffing needs and attending interviews, training of new hires in accordance to the training plan, and gathering feedback for training and annual reviews. Samantha also hosted Soldering Workshops for the company.

Samantha Flores has been involved in a variety of educational experiences. In 2017, they completed a Building Websites course with Codecademy and obtained a Build Websites from Scratch certification. Samantha also completed a Full Stack Web Development Certification with freeCodeCamp in 2017. In 2013, they began studying Computer Information Systems at CUNY Bronx Community College, and is currently enrolled at CUNY New York City College of Technology.
