Michael McNamara has had a long and varied career in the technology industry. Michael began their career in 1991 as a Computer Architect at Kubota Pacific Computer. Michael then moved to Chronologic Simulation in 1992 as Vice President of Engineering. In 1994, they became Vice President at Viewlogic Systems, where they managed the team developing VCS. In 1996, they served as President & CEO of SureFire Verification and also worked as Finder of Ken's Bugs at SGI. In 1999, they became SVP Technology at Verisity Design, where they managed operations, including IT, worldwide customer support, technical publications, training, and the California based research and development teams. In 2005, they joined Cadence Design Systems as Vice President & General Manager - System Level Design, where they recruited and managed the teams that built and took to market the Cadence C-to-Silicon Compiler and the Cadence Virtual Systems Platform. In 2012, they became Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Adapt-IP, and in 2015 they joined USB Defender as a Member of the Board. Finally, in 2016, they served as General Chair of the Design Automation Conference.
Michael McNamara attended Cornell University from 1980 to 1984, earning a BSEE in Electrical Engineering. Michael then returned to Cornell University from 1984 to 1985, earning an M.Eng in Electrical Engineering.
