Iain Hannah

Iain Hannah is a Senior Manager of Engineering in adidas INNOVATION, focusing on footwear and apparel projects that integrate biomechanics, additive manufacturing, and numerical optimization. Previously, Iain served as the Manager of Mechanical Engineering in the adidas FUTURE Team, conducting research in footwear biomechanics, simulation, and sensor technologies. Iain's academic background includes a PhD in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on biomechanics and sports technology from Loughborough University, where research involved developing finite element modeling methodologies for athletic footwear performance evaluation. Prior experience includes a Postdoctoral Research Associate position at the Insigneo Institute for in silico Medicine and a role as a British Council Language Assistant at Chenjinglun High School. Iain has also completed summer placements at Butterley Engineering Ltd. and had doctoral placements with the adidas Innovation Team during the PhD program. Education includes an MEng from both The University of Sheffield and Technische Universität Dresden.
