Saigin Govender

Saigin Govender is an accomplished technology executive with extensive experience in product development and innovation across various high-impact roles. Currently serving as a Board Director at Payments Canada, Saigin oversees the management of the national payments infrastructure, processing $540 billion daily. Previous positions include Chief Product & Technology Officer at Block Renovation, where significant scalability and efficiency improvements were achieved, and Director & Head of Product for AI Research at Meta, leading transformative AI product initiatives. Additional roles include Chief Product & Technology Officer at Tumblr, Vice President of Product Innovation at Verizon Media, and founding team member of the Alexa product at Amazon, contributing to the launch of the original Amazon Echo. Saigin's career began with strategic roles at Torstar Corporation, Rogers Communications, inCode (Ericsson), and AMD. Saigin holds an MBA from INSEAD and a BASC in Engineering Science from the University of Toronto.
