Tony Carmignani has over 28 years of experience in the health insurance industry. Tony began their career in 1991 as a Supervisor at Prudential, where they supervised the mailroom staff and managed the daily work flow and microfilming process for document archival and retrieval. In 1997, they joined Molina Healthcare as a Configuration/System Improvement Manager, where they managed a department of eight configuration analysts and one supervisor responsible for all benefit plans administered, all contracted and non-contracted providers, and all fee schedules. In 2007, they moved to Lovelace Health Plan as a Project Manager, where they co-managed the CarePlanner Web, Case Alert, and iExchange implementation within budget and on-time. Tony then became the system administrator, managing change controls, new users, troubleshooting errors and acting as liaison to the software vendor. In 2009, Tony joined ikaSystems as an Implementation Lead, where they were considered an ikaClaims system expert by clients and colleagues. Tony developed training and training materials for internal and external users and contributed to RFP responses. In 2013, they joined UnitedHealth Group as an Implementation Director, where they had program level oversight and accountability for Medicaid implementations in the West region and successfully implemented Managed Medicaid plans in New Mexico, Arizona, Hawaii and California. In 2018, Tony joined Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Mexico as a Senior Project Manager, where they managed the Centennial Care 2.0 Provider Network re-contracting effort required by the State of New Mexico and also managed the technical integration across multiple work streams and systems. Tony'smost recent role was with Advalent Corporation in 2019, where they held two roles - Director Product Consulting and Director Product Management - Claims. Tony also held a Senior Project/Program Manager role with outstanding health insurance operations experience in Medicaid.
Tony Carmignani attended Central New Mexico Community College from 1999 to 2004, studying computer science but not obtaining a degree.
