Aisha Shekara

Aisha Shekara is an experienced policy associate currently working at Advanced Energy United since August 2022. Previous roles include serving as the James Dunn Fellow for the Policy Team at the Office of the Governor in Illinois from August 2021 to July 2022, and a student worker at the University of Illinois System's Office of Governmental Relations from January 2019 to July 2021. Aisha has also gained experience through positions such as Legal Operations and Development with Rising for Justice, an intern in the United States Senate for Tammy Duckworth, and internships in the City of Bloomington's Mayor’s Office and State's Attorney Office. Aisha holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Psychology with a minor in Gender and Women Studies from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, completed in 2021.
