Policy Associate For Wholesale Electricity Markets at Advanced Energy United

Sam Ressin is a Regulatory Principal for the Mid Atlantic at Advanced Energy United, where involvement in regulatory dockets supports advanced energy technologies across Maryland, Virginia, and Pennsylvania. Prior experience includes serving as a Policy Associate focused on Wholesale Electricity Markets, drafting comments for FERC to enhance advanced energy participation in RTO/ISO markets and handling topics such as transmission and interconnection. At the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality, Sam was the Carbon Trading Program Specialist, managing compliance processes for 27 regulated sources and developing proposals for the state’s net-zero emissions goals by 2045. Earlier roles include working as an Enumerator for the U.S. Census Bureau and as an Elsie Hillman Scholar at the Pennsylvania Environmental Council, where a project analyzed Washington state’s clean energy standard legislation. Sam holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Statistics from the University of Pittsburgh and has conducted research through the Universidad Nacional de Colombia.
