Marwan Berrada-Sounni

Marwan Berrada-Sounni has over 18 years of experience in the medical device industry. Marwan began their career in 2001 as a Senior R&D Engineer for ev3 Inc., where they led the redesign of a Distal Embolic Protection Filter and developed a drug-eluding stent for PAD applications. In 2004, they joined CryoCath Technologies as a Project Manager and Senior R&D Engineer, and was responsible for launching the first generation FlexCath into the European market. In 2008, they became President & CEO of Bavaria Medical Technology, Canada Inc., where they grew the contract R&D and managed a $1.5M+ budget. From 2013 to 2019, Marwan held various roles, including Co-Founder and Board Member of Agile MV, Executive In Residence of Shifamed, Member of the Medical Device and Digital Health Screening team of Life Science Angels, and Chief Business Officer of NEXSTEP MEDICAL. In 2019, they co-founded VahatiCor Inc. to address the large unmet need of refractory angina. Most recently, in 2020, they became President, CEO, and co-founder of Advanced NanoTherapies, Inc., where they are helping patients access Dual-API based Drug Coated Balloons (DCB) using biodegradable nanoparticle technology.

Marwan Berrada-Sounni completed their BSc. in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Minnesota in 1999, graduating Magna Cum Laude. Marwan then went on to earn an MS in Mechanical Engineering from the same university in 2001. In 2005, they obtained an MBA in Finance - Strategy from McGill University, which they completed in 2009.
